Installing a new central heating system or boiler isn’t easy and involves experience and knowledge from a plumbing professional. Central heating systems are complicated and can include components such as domestic hot water cylinders, condensing boilers, and pressurised systems. We are fully qualified to install new central heating systems taking all of this into account.

COMBI BOILER

A combi boiler (combination boiler) is a type of condensing boiler. Combi boilers are efficient and compact making them more suitable for smaller homes. Combi boilers supply both water and central heating. Over half of domestic boiler installations each year in the UK are for combi boilers.

Combi boilers heat water directly from the mains cold water supply, meaning a hot water storage cylinder or cold water tank is not required. As a result, they are very energy-efficient and cost-efficient because water is not heated and stored in a tank. Combi boilers have some great benefit but there are things to consider before going ahead with a new installation. Give us a call and we’d be happy to talk through your options.

SYSTEM BOILER

System central heating boiler’s directly heat your central heating system and produces hot water for a storage cylinder. Very similar to a regular central heating boiler, its function is heat only.

With a system boiler, a hot water storage tank is needed - as the water is heated, it needs somewhere to store the water. Although, a colder tank isn’t required, which saves space and makes them more desirable for smaller homes.

CONVENTIONAL BOILER

Commonly known as a regular central heating boiler, conventional boiler’s include various parts; a boiler, controls for the heating, a hot water cylinder, a cold water storage cistern and an expansion tank. Conventional boilers are common in older and larger homes.
